I’m holding an online town hall meeting on Saturday 9th May at 10 – 11.30am for SEND parents, carers and educators in my constituency on the proposed reforms to SEND. You’ll be able to ask questions about the reforms, and share your views so I can once again feed back to the Department for Education (DfE). Your views matter to me.
You’ve told me how the SEND system is broken and historically underfunded. You’ve told me more investment is needed to give your children the education they deserve, closer to home.
I took everything you shared with me back to the DfE to feed into the Schools White Paper which was published this Spring. This is a policy document that sets out major proposed reforms to the SEND system, including more funding for specialists like SEND teachers, EPs, SLTs and OTs, better training, and new inclusion places close to home. This is still a consultation, running until the 18th May 2026.
